Many of them are considered pillars of the community and you have a chance to own one of them.
Cincinnati Public Schools is auctioning off nine old school buildings on Tuesday.
The school district held an open house at Windsor Elementary in Walnut Hills, Bloom, Bramble, Herberle, Linwood, McKinley, Roosevelt and Swifton schools on Monday.
The owner of Aunt Flora's restaurant says she would like to buy one of the old school buildings.
"If you have one awesome building in a community and you have a plan to do something really spectacular for the city, the community can be a part of that,” said Katrina Mincy. “It can help people with jobs. Learn skills. I want to teach people how to cook Southern food."
The public auction starts at 1 p.m. at the school district's headquarters on Burnet Avenue in Corryville.
