A man wanted for a double homicide is now behind bars.
Police say Gerald Wilson, 24, was arrested by the Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team around 6:30 p.m. Thursday evening.
Officials say Wilson was at an associate's residence on East McMicken Avenue. SOFAST deputies surrounded the building and entered the residence. Officials say Wilson tried to run out the back door, but he was apprehended.
Wilson is accused of shooting Kenneth Gaines, 48 and Mark Davenport, 51, in the 1200 block of Lincoln Avenue near East Martin Luther King Drive just before 11 p.m. Friday night. Both Gaines and Davenport were transported to the hospital where they were pronounced dead.
A third victim, a juvenile, was also treated for a non-life threatening gunshot wound. The juvenile's name has not been released.
On Sunday, homicide detectives signed a murder warrant for the arrest of Christopher Shaun Alexander for the homicides. Alexander was arrested around 11 a.m. on Monday when he turned himself into authorities in Carthage.
Wilson has a criminal record that includes convictions for crimes involving felony assaults and robberies, officials say.
Wilson is in the Hamilton County Justice Center.
