I ride my horse in East Fork State Park frequently, and hope that users of the new bike trail remain aware that there will be areas where the bike and horse trails intersect, and horses may also be on the portion of trail that runs on Williamsburg-Bantam Road or in the streambed near the bridge. If there are children in your group, remind them that they need to fully stop their bikes if they see horses and riders approaching or crossing the road, and let the horses pass before continuing. If you and the horses are traveling in the same direction on the road, do NOT attempt to simply speed past the horse from behind. That can startle the horses, which could lead to a horse kicking out and injuring someone. Slow down and let the horseback rider know that you would like to pass, and on which side you will be passing them. Always, always ask the rider for permission before approaching or petting a horse, and if the rider says "no," leave it at that. Practicing good and safe trail etiquette will ensure "happy trails" for ALL users.

Parking seems to always be an issue.

We were just on this trail, and it is very nice, and easy for all, we even took my three year old daughter and three nieces. My only problem - there is no parking at the beginning of the trail for those who drive to get there.
