WOODLAWN, Ohio - A "strong odor of marijuana" coming from a Woodlawn home led to the arrest of two people on Thursday afternoon.
Officers responded to 988 Prairie Ave. at about 2:40 p.m. to investigate the smell when they noticed two men throwing what they later determined to be marijuana plants over a fence in the backyard of the property, according to the Woodlawn Police Department. Investigators said the men were throwing the plants over the fence to "avoid detection from police."
In all, 60 marijuana plants were seized during the investigation.
Byron Cooper and a juvenile were arrested at the scene and face cultivation of marijuana and tampering with evidence charges. Cooper's relationship to the juvenile was not released.
Both suspects were transported to the Hamilton County Justice Center.
