Woman fights attacker in UC parking garage

CINCINNATI - A female student reported an attempted rape Monday night in a parking garage on the University of Cincinnati's campus in University Heights.

The student said she was confronted by a male suspect armed with a handgun in the Calhoun Garage at about 5:30 p.m. The suspect fondled the student's breasts and she punched him, campus police said.

At that point, the student ran to her car and left the garage.  She called police from another location to report the incident.

The suspect was described as a black male, in his mid- to late 20s, who is 6-foot-3. He was wearing a dark shirt, blue jeans and a black mask.

A search of the garage and surrounding area was conducted but the suspect wasn't located.  UC police are continuing its investigation.

Nine women have been assaulted in UC parking garages so far this fall. A 15-year-old boy was charged in eight of those attacks in September.
