CINCINNATI - A man accused of robbing a Madeira store and shooting the owner more than eight months ago will face a court date in July after his case was continued Thursday.

On Sept. 5, 2012, 37-year-old William Hart robbed Madeira Beverage located in the 600 block of Kenwood Road and shot the store owner, Roop Gupta, according to police.

As Hart fled the store following the robbery, police say he fired four rounds from a small black pistol. Gupta, 60, was hit once in the abdomen. Gupta was taken to University Hospital where he was stabilized.

The owner's wife was also in the store when it was robbed. Police say she was thrown against a wine cellar, but still tried to chase the suspect after he fled on foot.

Police arrested Hart two weeks after the robbery during a routine traffic stop in Golf Manor.

Hart is charged with two counts of aggravated robbery, two counts of felonious assault and one count of weapons under disability.

His trial was continued until July 11 at 9 a.m.
