SOUTH LEBANON, Ohio — A tractor trailer hit and killed a Kings Mill teenager walking along I-71 early Sunday morning in Warren County, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The department is investigating the incident that happened at about 2:20 a.m. in the southbound lanes of the highway near the South Lebanon exit.

A 2006 Freightliner semi driven by Abdullah Ahmed, 39, of Florence, Ky. struck Joshua Alcorn, 17, as the teen was in the roadway, according to a preliminary investigation report released by OSP.

Alcorn died at the scene.

Ahmed was not hurt in the incident and was wearing a seat belt. Troopers did not know whether or not Ahmed was impaired at the time.

All southbound lanes of I-71 were closed for about 45 minutes overnight. The right lane remained closed for about 3 hours as troopers reconstructed the incident.

OSP is continuing their investigation. No one was charged immediately after the incident.
