MASON, Ohio -- A man was killed late Tuesday after slamming his motorcycle into the back of a minivan, according to investigators.
The crash happened at about 11 p.m. on Butler Warren Road near Mason Road.
Investigators say Jeffery Stewart, 51, of Mason, was driving northbound on Butler-Warren Road on a black 2008 Buell 1125R when he struck the right rear of a 2004 Ford Free driven by James Spence, 55, of Mason.
After hitting Spence's car, Stewart traveled off the right side of the roadway, struck a mailbox and was ejected from the motorcycle.
Stewart was pronounced dead at the scene by the Montgomery County Coroner's Office.
Investigators say Stewart was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Alcohol and speed appear to be factors.
The crash remains under investigation.
