MAINVILLE, Ohio -- The community has rallied around the children of Traci Fletcher-Garrett after police say she was killed by her ex-husband on Sept. 11 at her home in Morrow.

That support will be even more evident Saturday as the fundraising event for her children will take place from 9 a.m.- 2 p.m. at the Maineville Professional Building and Studios.

The event will feature 28 vendors, over 60 silent auction items and a bake sale.

April Sova was planning a fundraiser event with Fletcher-Garrett when she died. Now she is spearheading the fundraiser in her name.

“We’re going to have something up on the wall where you can leave a note letting the kids know what you’re thinking, your good wishes, your prayers,” Sova said. “If you can come out, make a donation, buy a baked good, get your Christmas shopping done and enjoy the community because that’s what Traci would’ve wanted.”

The children are staying with their aunt, who is already a mother of two. The money would go in part towards renovating the basement to make two rooms and a bathroom for the Fletcher-Garrett children.
