FD: Juveniles among 7 hurt in Harlan Twp. wreck

HARLAN TWP., Ohio -- Several juveniles are among the seven people who suffered various non-life-threatening injuries Saturday afternoon in a two-SUV collision in Warren County.

The wreck occurred just before 3 p.m. at the intersection of state routes 123 and 132, according to Harlan Township Fire Chief Andy Mitten.

Mitten told WCPO that after the contact between the two vehicles, one of the SUVs struck a high-tension power line, trapping the teen driver inside for more than 50 minutes. Emergency crews had to cut the roof off of the SUV to free the driver, Mitten said.

The trapped driver, who was not identified, was then flown by medical helicopter to University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

A total of six other people from both SUVs were taken by ambulance to Bethesda North Hospital. No one else involved in the crash was identified.

Mitten said none of the injuries are life-threatening and he believes all 7 individuals – many of whom are children – were wearing seat belts.

No other information is available.
