GEORGETOWN, Ohio - One person sustained serious injuries in a head-on collision between two vehicles on Route 68 in Brown County Tuesday afternoon.
The accident occurred about 12:49 p.m. near the intersection of Wahlsburg Road, about two miles north of Georgetown, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The crash involved a semi-tractor trailer operated by Michael Abney, 36, of Centerville and a 2009 Ford Edge, driven by Lawrence Decker, 67, of Georgetown.
According to preliminary investigation, the Ford Edge traveled left of center on Route 68 and struck the semi-truck head-on.
Decker sustained serious injuries and was flown by a medical helicopter to University Hospital for treatment. His wife and passenger, Connie Decker, was transported by ambulance to Mt. Orab injuries for unknown injuries.
Abney was not injured in the collision.
Police say all occupants were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors.
The incident remains under investigation.
