Officials ID 2 drivers killed in Kenton Co. crash

RYLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - On Monday, officials released the identities of the two drivers who died after they collided on a Kenton County roadway Sunday morning.

Kenton County police responded to a two-vehicle collision at 11811 Decoursey Pike at approximately 5:25 a.m. Sunday morning.

A 2000 Mercury Cougar was traveling southbound on Decoursey Pike when it traveled left of the center line and struck a northbound 1999 Toyota Camry, according to the police report.

The driver of the Mercury Cougar, William Martin Jr., 28, of New Richmond was pronounced dead a short time after being transported by helicopter to University Hospital.

The female driver of the Toyota Camry was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials identified her as 60-year-old Beverly Readnour of Morningview, Ky.

Both drivers were wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
