Two local Holocaust survivors honored by Cincinnati City Council

In recognition of Holocaust Rememberance Day

CINCINNATI - Councilman P.G. Sittenfeld honored two local Holocaust survivors Wednesday.

Sittenfeld presented Werner Coppell and Stephanie Marks with two official resolutions during Wednesday's City Council meeting in recognition of Holocaust Rememberance Day.

Coppell and Marks came to the United States and to Cincinnati from Europe after escaping the Holocaust and being displaced during World War II.

"Mr. Coppell and Mrs. Marks are genuine heroes," Sittenfeld said in a press release. "Their stories offer hope and inspiration, and through them we are reminded how important it is for all of us to stand up against injustice and persecution."
