CINCINNATI - With part of the Tri-State under an Excessive Heat Warning and all of the Tri-State under a heat advisory, certain changes are being made to help residents and workers cope with the lingering heat wave.
Beginning Friday morning, Public Service Crews will begin trash collection at 5:30 a.m. indefinitely throughout the remainder of the summer months to protect the safety of sanitation workers.
"As always we are concerned about the health and safety of our employees," said Public Services Director Mike Robinson. "Having earlier work hours allows us to take every precaution for our employees to finish trash routes during the coolest parts of the day."
Residents should have their trash placed on the curb by 5:30 a.m.
Cincinnati Recreation Centers will also be open during normal hours for residents to help them cope with the heat wave. The centers will serve as "Cool Centers" to provide heat relief.
