LEWIS COUNTY, Ky. -- An Ohio man accused of raping a pre-teen girl about a decade ago was arrested Saturday in Kentucky.
Timothy McRoberts, 41, was spotted by Lewis County Sheriff's deputies as he was walking in the Charters area, according to the Clermont County Sheriff's Office.
Sheriff's deputies said when they ran McRoberts' ID, they found he had an outstanding warrant as a suspect in a 2004 rape. He was arrested at the scene.
On Friday, the Clermont County Sheriff's Office asked the public for help locating McRoberts.
The suspected reportedly indicated during correspondence with law enforcement on Aug. 22 that he would cause “self-harm.”
McRoberts is accused of one count of rape for the incident that took place in 2004.
He was taken to the Lewis County Detention Center. It's unclear when he will be transported to Clermont County.
