Police seize $64K in heroin, arrest two men

FAIRFIELD, Ohio - Hamilton police have arrested two men after they seized 19 ounces of heroin, 7 pounds of marijuana, two handguns and $7,000 cash.

Police arrested 39-year-old Michael Martin and 22-year old William Russia during the search of a house at 23 View Court.

Both men are being charged with complicity of trafficking.

Police said the street value of the heroin was nearly $64,000.

Hamilton Police Department received a tip in February about a subject selling large amounts of illegal prescription pills to Hamilton residents.

Detectives said they were able to purchase these pills and heroin from a drug trafficker.

The investigation concluded Friday morning after officers serves three search warrants where they arrested the two men.

The Cincinnati SWAT team served two search warrants in the 5100 block of Hawaiian Terrace and in the 900 block of Rutledge Court.

Additional charges are pending and several other arrests are expected.
