Police: Man bites victim during attempted Mount Healthy robbery

MOUNT HEALTHY, Ohio - A Mount Healthy man is accused of biting another man during a robbery attempt over the weekend.

William Macklin, 35, followed another man into a bathroom in the 7300 block of Perry Street and tried to take his bank card at about 5:30 p.m. Friday. When Macklin couldn't get the card of the victim's pocket, he allegedly bit the victim's shoulder and started choking him.

The victim escaped and called 911, but Macklin fled the scene, according to an arrest report. Officials caught up with Macklin less than a mile away near the intersection of Compton Road and Werner Avenue.

Police arrested the Mount Healthy resident and charged him with assault. His court date has not yet been set.

The victim sustained and bite mark on his shoulder, but officials have not released any additional details about the extent of the victim's injuries.
