UNION TWP., Clinton Co. - A 64-year-old man is dead after a three car accident in Clinton County Friday afternoon.
The crash happened on U.S. 22, just west of Starbuck Road, around 4:34 p.m.
Police say Meghan K. Ryan, 21, of Seaman, Ohio was traveling west on U.S. 22 in a 2004 Toyota Avalon. Jeanette A. Meadows, 52, was headed east on the same road in a 1992 Pontiac Grand Prix. According to officials, an unknown white, four-door vehicle was stopped at a stop sign, heading south on U.S. 22. The unknown vehicle then pulled into the path of Ryan to turn left. In order to avoid a collision with the unknown vehicle, Ryan went left of center, and struck the Pontiac head on.
The driver of the unknown vehicle then fled the scene, police say. Both Ryan and Meadows, along with Meadows' passenger, were transported to Clinton Memorial Hospital.
The passenger, who is identified as a 64-year-old man from Reesville, Ohio, was later transported to Miami Valley Hospital by a medical helicopter, where he later died. His name has not been released at this time.
Police are asking anyone with information on this accident to contact the Ohio State Highway Patrol's Wilmington Post at (937) 382-2551.
