Joseph Tucker Jr. arraigned for Dec. 7 murder of Hilton Netherland Plaza guard Richard Campbell

CINCINNATI - An arrest has been made in the murder case of a security guard who was found dead at the downtown hotel where he worked.

Cincinnati police arrested Joseph Tucker Jr. Friday night for the murder of Richard K. Campbell, a security guard at the Hilton Netherland Plaza located in downtown Cincinnati, police said.

Tucker Jr. appeared before a judge this morning for arraignment.

His bond has been set at $1 million.

Tucker's attorney says he suffers from mental issues and is currently homeless.

Prosecutors asked for the high bond because of the nature of the crime.

On Dec. 7, police officers responded to the hotel located at 35 West Fifth Street around 5 a.m. after receiving a report of a deceased hotel employee. Upon arrival, police located the body of Campbell, 58, deceased in a stairwell from an apparent stab wound.

Cincinnati Police Chief James Craig held a press conference in reference to this incident at Rockdale Elementary Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
