Patti LaBelle visiting two local Kroger stores

CINCINNATI - Grammy Award-winning singer Patti LaBelle is stopping by two Tri-State Kroger stores to celebrate Black History Month.

The entertainer will greet fans and customers at the Queen City Centre Kroger, 4777 Kenard Avenue on Wednesday from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. A choir from the School of Creative and Performing Arts, along with students from Rockdale Academy will be at the event.

Then, on Thursday LaBelle will be at the Norwood Kroger, 4500 Montgomery Road from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m.  LaBelle will be accompanied by the St. Bernard High School Choir and students from Evanston Academy.

LaBelle is asking local communities to visit area African-American museums and cultural centers to take a journey through Black History. It is apart of Kroger's 2012 Black History Month campaign called Step Up for Black History.

Visiting Kroger locations is fitting for LaBelle, who is the founder of Lady Marmalade, a line of sauces, marinades and spices.
