MIDDLETOWN, Ohio  - A 21-year-old woman police say was shot at when she broke into a Middletown apartment was arraigned Friday morning.

A 62-year-old woman living in the residence said she wishes she had been wearing her glasses when she fired three shots at the burglar in the early morning hours Wednesday.

Police say Paige Stacy, 21, broke into Mabel Fletcher's apartment in the 900 block of Kensington Street.

Fletcher fired a warning shot then Stacy threw an ironing board at Fletcher, according to police.

Fletcher then fired two more shots that missed and Stacy fled the scene.

“I told her to stop, but she wouldn't stop and I shot,” Fletcher said.

“I shot the warning shot. I shot at her, but I didn't have my glasses on so I couldn't see real good, you know?”

Police said they found Stacy passed out in a nearby car. She was charged with aggravated burglary and drug offenses.

Stacy's bond was set at $5,000 and a preliminary hearing was scheduled for Friday, Sept. 13.
