Man shot in ankle in Avondale

CINCINNATI -- A 35-year-old man was shot in the ankle late Wednesday in Avondale.
The shooting happened shortly before 12 a.m. on Harvey Avenue and Carplin Place.
Police say the victim was walking on Harvey Ave. when someone in a small dark vehicle started shooting at him. Officials do not believe the victim was the intended target.
He was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries.
This is the third shooting in less than a week to occur in the Avondale area.

Fire breaks out inside apartment above The Wine Merchant in Oakley

CINCINNATI -- Flames broke out Wednesday evening inside an apartment located above The Wine Merchant in Oakley.
Fire crews were dispatched at 7 p.m. to the third floor apartment at 3972 Edwards Road.
An aggressive interior attack brought the fire under control in about 10 minutes.
The tenant was not home when the fire broke out.
Officials estimate $10,000 worth of damage inside the building and are investigating what caused the blaze.
