North College Hill officer wanted on federal money laundering charges

Ordered to turn himself in to US Marshals Service

CINCINNATI - A North College Hill police officer was ordered to turn himself in to the U.S. Marshals Service by Wednesday Aug. 22, 2012 on federal money laundering charges.

According to the North College Hill Police Department, Officer Byron A. Roos is wanted for charges that stem from alleged activities with an off-duty business of which Roos is the owner. 

Roos, a decorated 13-year veteran officer, is on administrative leave while the case remains under investigation.

Roos has received several commendations during his career with the North College Hill Police Department, including helping victims during a shooting incident in May, arresting suspects for burglary and drug trafficking, and receiving a Medal of Valor for rescuing an elderly woman from a burning residence.

Police have not released any other details on the case at this time.
