Man who died of gunshot wound in Hamilton, Ohio identified

HAMILTON, Ohio -- Authorities identified a man who died from a gunshot wound Friday night in Hamilton.

The shooting of Deandrew Lavon Jackson happened at about 9:30 p.m. March 21 near the intersection of Pershing Avenue and South Front Street. Jackson was alive at the scene when police arrived.

Medics took Jackson to University Hospital where he died, said Sgt. Michael Waldeck of the Hamilton Police Department.

No one is in custody. Detectives are investigating the incident as a homicide, and ask anyone with information contact (513) 868-5811, ext. 2002. No suspects were taken into custody, Waldeck said.

The intersection remained closed to traffic Friday night.

No further information was immediately available.
