VILLA HILLS, Ky. - Villa Hills police are looking for a suspect who took two donation canisters from an Ameristop last month.

Police released surveillance footage Tuesday which shows a man entering the store. In the video, the man takes a look around and grabs two donation canisters before rushing out of the Ameristop.

The incident happened on Aug. 28.

The donation canisters were placed in the store to raise money for the ALS Kentucky Chapter and the 9/11 memorial in Crescent Springs.

"He came back inside and said he left his ID on the floor I went to look for it with him we didn't find it I went back to wiping windows," said employee Niko Foley, who was working when the crime happened.

The suspect has a thin build, short hair, and was wearing a gray tank top and dark shorts. Police say he has two tattoos, one of which is a large cross on his left arm.

"It's not just taking money from Ameristop but taking it from the whole community," said Foley.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (513) 352-3040.
