INDEPENDENCE, Ky. -- A home for sale on Staffordsburg Road has been declared a total loss after flames engulfed the single-family structure early Monday morning.
Lt. Brian Claybern of the Independence Fire District said firefighters were dispatched just before 5:30 a.m. to 11730 Staffordsburg Rd., but were unable to save the house.
The home was presently being offered for sale, and no home owner information was immediately available. Crews will continue to operate on the scene throughout the morning to extinguish several hot spots following the collapse of the residence.
