COVINGTON, Ky. -- Two people accused of shooting another person in the leg Thursday afternoon were arrested across the street from an elementary school in Covington.
The shooting happened at Bell Court and Walsh Drive, shortly before 2:30 p.m., authorities said.
The suspects fled the scene. Police caught the suspects less than a mile away, across the street from Fort Wright Elementary School, according to Covington police chief Spike Jones.
Fort Wright Elementary, of 501 Farrell Drive, was put on lockdown for about 30 minutes as the arrest happened, but the lockdown was lifted before the end of the school day. Students were dismissed as usual.
The victim, Jones said, was taken to University of Cincinnati Medical Center to be treated for his non-life-threatening injury.
Police are unsure of the motive behind the shooting at this time.
