COVINGTON -- Robin's Nest Charitable Fund will host its second annual 5K run/walk Sept. 14 to support families battling cancer.
Robin Fugate Evernham was in her early 30s when she was diagnosed with cancer and told she had one year to live. Immediately her focus turned to how she could help other people going through the same challenge.
She lost her battle with cancer two years ago but her sisters continue carrying her spirit and determination to help others.
The 5K helps fund services to relieve financial burdens created by this disease to those suffering from cancer in select parts of Northern Kentucky and Indiana. A scholarship fund to Newport Central Catholic High School has also been created.
