PARK(ing) Day brings free golf course, arts event to Covington's Roebling Point

COVINGTON, Ky. -- Summer may be coming to a close but you can still play a quick nine holes -- in downtown Covington.

As part of Covington’s annual PARK(ing) Day art event, organizers will be setting up a free mini-golf experience throughout the Roebling Point neighborhood Friday evening.

“Fore! 41011” runs from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a course layout that includes holes in front of Blinkers, Molly Malone’s, Roebling Point Books & Coffee, Down Under and Keystone.

“Golfers” will receive a scorecard that, once finished, can get them a 15 percent discount at all participating businesses.

Officials said PARK(ing) Day is an annual art event where artists, designers and residents can transform parking spots into one-day public parks.

The arts event is part of a worldwide initiative to spotlight artistic enterprises in urban settings.

The event is free and open to the public.
