Man shot near scene of Monday's 13th Street homicide in Covington

COVINGTON, Ky. -- A day after a fatal shooting on Covington's east side, police were called to another shooting incident a block and a half away Tuesday.

Covington police received a call about a shooting at about 2 p.m. near 13th and Garrard streets.

One person was shot in the arm and taken to a nearby hospital.  Another person was taken into custody for the shooting.

Earlier in the day Covington Police Chief Spike Jones detailed Monday's fatal shooting of 30-year-old Randolph Hughes. Two men, 23-year-old Erik Avert Tucker and 22-year-old Reginald Davan Early, were arrested in Florence the same day.

Jones said Tuesday's shooting was not related to that case.
