COVINGTON, Ky. - A massive fire started in a vacant house at 126 Martin St. and spread to three other houses, 9 On Your Side's Lanny Brannock reported.

Two buildings collapsed at 122 and 128 Martin as fire crews tried to save neighboring structures.

One firefighter was treated for a sprained ankle, but no one else was hurt.

No one was in the other homes when the fire broke out about 4:20 p.m., Brannock reported.

Clouds of black smoke rose over the skyline and even the flames could be seen for miles.

Arson investigators were on the scene and electricity had been turned off in the vacant house.

Firefighters said power lines made it difficult to fight the blaze. The fire knocked out power to the entire block.

Five people have been displaced and the Red Cross is assisting.
