WHITEWATER TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- A woman was killed in a crash on Interstate 275 in Whitewater Township Tuesday afternoon, according to Hamilton County deputies.

Catherine Taske, 84, of Cincinnati, was driving a 2002 Honda south on I-275 at about 4:04 p.m. When Taske was approaching the Stephens Road overpass, her vehicle went off the right side of the road and went along the grassy shoulder until it struck a bridge pier, according to deputies.

Taske was trapped in the vehicle for about 30 minutes after the crash, according to deputies. Firefighters extricated her from the vehicle and she was flown to University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

She was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital, according to deputies.

The crash was still under investigation by the Sheriff's Traffic Safety Unit, but alcohol, drugs and speed were all believed to have not been factors. Taske was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
