SPRINGFIELD TWP., Ohio – Police continue to try to locate a driver and passenger involved in the theft of a vehicle and subsequent pursuit.
Springfield Township police attempted to stop a 2012 Chevrolet Equinox on Hamilton Avenue near Goodman at 1:34 a.m. The driver of that vehicle rammed a police cruiser and fled the scene.
The officer of the rammed vehicle was not injured.
A second Springfield Township police cruiser was called to assist. In the process of responding, the second cruiser went off the roadway and struck a utility pole. The officer driving that vehicle received non-life threatening injury.
Police eventually recovered the abandoned, stolen Equinox.
One suspect was described as a light-skinned, black male in his early 20s wearing a black jacket and black cap. There was no description of the second suspect.
