Police: Suspect shot sleeping woman

LINCOLN HEIGHTS, Ohio - Police have arrested a person they say was involved in several shootings in the Lincoln Heights area.

After a chase, officials arrested a suspect in the 1000 block of Jackson Street at about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday. They say the suspect, whose name has not yet been released, is responsible for some shootings in the neighborhood and possibly one that occurred almost 12 hours earlier in the area.

The chase happened near the scene of a shooting that happened late Tuesday night . Police say a suspect or suspects shot at a house and struck 57-year-old Priscilla Phillips, who was asleep in her bed in the 1100 block of Jackson Street. The shooting happened at about midnight and there were at least nine bullet holes in the home.

Phillips is in good condition at a local hospital, according to the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department.

Police say they recovered two weapons used in the shooting, an AK-47 and a .40 caliber automatic weapon.

Authorities have not yet said why they initiated a chase with the suspect. Officials have not released any additional details at this time.

The situation was still deemed dangerous Wednesday morning, and a police officer guarded the area with an a large rifle.
