Lincoln Heights Elementary no longer on lockdown after police searched for a shooting suspect

Bullet hole found in school bus

CINCINNATI -- Lincoln Heights Elementary School was on a temporary lockdown Wednesday as police searched the area for a shooting suspect.

Just before 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, a woman who was shot showed up at the Lincoln Heights Fire Department, close to the school.

Police swept the area near Van Buren and Jackson Streets searching for a suspect.

Police say a Lincoln Heights bus driver had just finished dropping off children when a bullet pierced the back of the school bus.

The school was put on lockdown for an hour and a half during the search as a safety precaution.

The woman who was shot was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police are saying that this is an isolated incident and that they are still searching for the suspect.

Stay with WCPO for more details as they become available.
