CINCINNATI - There could be fireworks in Green Township on Thursday, as the Metropolitan SewerDistrict present plans for a new sewer treatment plant onCincinnati's far westside.The Metropolitan Sewer District or MSD will hold aninformational meeting Thursday evening at the Nathanael GreenLodge to explain its plans for the new sewer treatmentfacility.
The new $31 million plant is set to be built at the corner ofWerk and Westbourne in Green Township in the next few years.MSD officials say it will be a new enhanced high ratefacility to capture and treat sewer outflows before they arereleased into creeks in the area.These sewer outflows are often caused whenever heavy rainstax the existing sewer system.MSD says the new Green Township plant should sharply reducestrong sewer odors and environmental risks in the area.
The sewer plant meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. with both apresentation and question-and-answer session at the Green Lodge,located at 6394 Wesselman Road in Green Township.
