CINCINNATI - The man accused of raping three women entered a not guilty plea in court Thursday morning.
Tony Pippin — the suspect Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters identified Monday as the "Delhi rapist" — is facing 21 charges including rape, assault and robbery. He pleaded not guilty to the charges Thursday.
The 39-year-old allegedly raped two women and a 15-year-old in the Delhi area over the last year.
An investigation began after a rape in Delhi Township in September 2012 when officials found similarities between the assault and another attempted sexual assault in Delhi Township in April 2012.
Police say the victims of each of the assaults both spent some part of their evening at the Knotty Pine bar, located at 6947 Cheviot Road in White Oak.
Officials caught up with Pippin after a months-long investigation that involved putting undercover police officers in bars, acquiring warrants to track Pippin's car via GPS, and a few breaks in the case, including the suspect turning over his own DNA in an attempt to be a Regional Enforcement Narcotics Unit informant.
During his court appearance Thursday, a judge set his bond at $500,000 and required that he take HIV and STD tests.
