CINCINNATI - Delhi Township officials are looking into what caused the death of a 10-year-old Delhi Township girl on Saturday.
An autopsy was performed Monday on Mallori Ayers. Ayers' mother discovered her unresponsive in an inflatable obstacle course at an amusement business on Delhi Road. Police and fire responded and found her unconscious and not breathing.
Delhi Township Fire and Police began life-saving measures at the scene and transported Ayers to Children's Hospital. She was pronounced dead a short time later.
According to Lt. Joe Macaluso of the Delhi Police Department, investigators do not suspect foul play.
Macaluso stated that the child had no obvious signs of trauma that they could see. They are awaiting final results from the coroner to see whether a medical condition exists. The Ohio Department of Agriculture Amusement Ride Safety Division sent an investigator to the facility, which Macaluso stated is standard procedure any time there is a death or serious injury at an amusement facility.
