DEER PARK, Ohio -- Friday is the first day of fall, but temperatures are supposed to reach 90 degrees with very high humidity. Because of that, Deer Park Schools will release students early.

A news release from Superintendent Jay Phillips said the humidity and temperature "will make for what I would consider near-dangerous conditions in our school buildings, especially on the 2nd floors of both Amity Elementary and the Jr./Sr. High School."

The Jr./Sr. High School will release at 12:40 p.m. Friday; Holmes and Amity elementary schools will release at 12:55 p.m. The after school program at Holmes Elementary is canceled Friday, but the shuttle from Holmes to the Howard building will run.

Phillips said forecasts may mean more early dismissals on Monday and/or Tuesday.
