COLERAIN TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- A teenager was arrested Tuesday after posting a photo of a gun with a threatening message on Snapchat, according to Colerain Township police.

"Do not come to school tomorroe," the Snapchat said, with a photo of a gun in the background. "You've been warned," the next snap read.

Police and Northwest School District officials said concerned parents called police, administrators and the Safe School Hotline beginning Tuesday night, which "allowed for police to make a quick arrest," school officials said.

The gun shown in the Snapchat was determined to be a BB gun, police said. A K-9 dog found the gun in a wooded area behind the teen's house.

The Northwest High School student -- a juvenile -- was arrested by Colerain Township police, but the school is operating with high security on Tuesday, the district and police said.

The student will be in court Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. He's charged with making terroristic threats and tampering with evidence.
