COLERAIN TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- A contractor for Rumpke was injured at Rumpke Sanitary Landfill when a drum roller tipped over while he was operating it, according to a Rumpke spokesperson.

Colerain EMS transported the worker from the landfill on Struble Road in Colerain Township to University of Cincinnati Medical Center for treatment of a laceration, Amanda Pratt, director of Corporate Communications, said.

The worker was not seriously injured, and the incident did not involved entrapment. Pratt said Rumpke’s “thoughts and prayers” are with the person.

Bridgett Biggs, safety manager at Rumpke Waste & Recycling, thanked Colerain Township emergency responders for responding so quickly.

“Although the person involved in today’s incident, was not a Rumpke employee, the safety of anyone working at or visiting a Rumpke site is always a top priority. We will continue to work with this contractor to investigate this occurrence,” Biggs said in a news release.
