CINCINNATI -- The cooks among us have a long day ahead each Thanksgiving -- which may be why the day before is one of the busiest of the year for pizza shops.

Workers at LaRosa’s on Vine Street said they tossed over 500 pies Wednesday night as hungry Cincinnatians made their way through the pizzeria. For some, the pre-Turkey Day pizza stop was a long-standing tradition.

I wouldn’t miss it for anything," said Larry Hall, who enjoyed a pizza with friends and family. "This has become a tradition with friends we have known since high school."

Michael LaRosa suggested the influx of diners might also be Cincinnatians hoping to get a last local taste before they left town for the holiday.

“They want to get their local fixes, so they’re at LaRosa’s and Graeter’s and Skyline and Frisch’s, kind of getting the taste that they grew up with,” he said.
