Man arrested in fatal Westwood shooting

CINCINNATI - A suspect was issued a $250,000 bond after he was arrested for his alleged role in a fatal shooting that took place at a Westwood area apartment complex Sunday afternoon.

Cincinnati police responded to 2725 Baker Ave. at 3:25 p.m. after receiving a report of a shooting. Upon arriving at the scene police say they found two gunshot victims in the parking lot of the apartment complex.

Police say Lionel Phillips, 25, was found dead at the scene.

Another man, whose name has not been released, was transported to University of Cincinnati Medical Center. He was listed in serious condition late Sunday evening.

Ronald Williams, 27, surrendered to police and was arrested on weapons charges. Additional charges are pending.

Williams argued at his Monday arraignment that he shot Phillips in self-defense.

The investigation is ongoing.
