CINCINNATI – A University of Cincinnati football player was arrested after threatening a police officer Sunday morning.
Braxton Lane, 22, is accused of threatening to shoot a police officer after the cop was called to a house on Klotter Avenue in Fairview at about 5 a.m. for a noise complaint. Lane then pointed a laser pointer at the officer from a second-story window at the house.
The police officer called for back up after the threat, according to a police report.
Lane surrendered without incident and was charged with aggravated menacing. He was taken to the Hamilton County Justice Center and is set to appear in court at 12:30 p.m. Monday for an arraignment hearing.
Hamilton County court records show Lane was arrested June 14 on a charge of disorderly conduct.
Ryan Koslen, senior communications director at UC, confirmed to 9 On Your Side that Lane has been suspended indefinitely from team activities.
Lane is a redshirt freshman from Tyrone, Ga.
