Driver slams into postal service truck, 1 hurt

CINCINNATI -- A 19-year-old is in critical condition after the vehicle he was riding in slammed into a United States Postal Service truck Wednesday evening in South Fairmount.

Investigators say Willie Monghan, 19, was driving north on Harrison Avenue in a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu at about 6:30 p.m. when he crossed over the median and struck a 2005 postal truck, driven by 64-year-old Dennis Hughes.

Monghan and his front seat passenger, Ricky Patterson, 19, were not injured in the crash.

Terry Feagin III, 19, was riding in the back of Monghan’s vehicle and was extricated by fire crews. He was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center where he is listed in critical but stable condition.

Hughes was not injured in the crash.

Officials say speed appears to be a factor and the investigation is ongoing.
