Police arrest 2 suspects for allegedly firing at off-duty officer in Roselawn

CINCINNATI - Police have arrested two suspects for allegedly shooting at an off-duty officer in Roselawn early Tuesday morning.

Jihad Sanders, 22, and Frank Latham, 23, were arrested on the suspicion of improperly discharging a weapon into a habitation and felonious assault, according to Cincinnati police.

An off-duty police officer saw an SUV driving erratically in the 7000 block of Reading Road at about 3 a.m. and when the officer followed the vehicle, the driver stopped and fired shots in the officer's direction in the 1600 block of Summit Road, police said. The suspect fired three shots toward the officer's vehicle — one bullet hit the grill of the vehicle, another hit the headlight and a third bullet missed the vehicle completely, according to a police statement.

The officer was not injured. The suspects fled the scene and officials are searching for a man driving a black, two-door Chevy Blazer SUV.

The incident remains under investigation.
