CINCINNATI — The phone call Tony Little received late Sunday was not a complete surprise. He expected that someday, someone would call to tell him that his 18-year-old son was either dead, or needed an attorney.

A stranger's voice informed Tony Little his son and namesake, Antonio Little III, that Cincinnati police found dead in the 2000 block of Lafeuille Circle in Westwood.

Tony Little said he tried to keep his son off of the streets, but couldn't. He said his child made more than a few bad decisions.

Police said they don't know who shot Antonio Little III. Neighbors at the nearby Lafeuille Apartments have said Antonio bled to death after being shot in the leg.

All that Tony Little is now left with are questions about what led to his son's death, and a message to other young men like his son.

"I just really hope these kids can take this and run with it because there’s more to life than those streets," he said. "There’s more treasures. You can be somebody, you can help your family, you can make it out of here. It just don’t have to be this."

Officers ask anyone with information contact them through Crime Stoppers.

Callers may leave anonymous tips by calling 513-352-3040 or texting “CINTIP” plus a message to CRIMES (274637).
