CINCINNATI -- Venerable Cincinnati-style chili restaurant Pleasant Ridge Chili is about to get some national exposure.
The restaurant has been a Cincinnati institution for more than 50 years. It celebrated its 50th anniversary in January 2014.
Pleasant Ridge Chili will be featured on an episode of “Food Paradise” on the Travel Channel on Wednesday at 10 p.m. The episode is entitled “Local Legends.”
The parlor was opened on January 15, 1964 by the Sideris family, serving the city’s 3-way, 4-way, and 5-ways, along with fries covered in chili and double-decker sandwiches.
“I’ve been here since I was 5 years old with my dad,” said Danny Sideris during the business' 50th anniversary as he served up $.99 cheese coneys to customers to celebrate. “I’ll keep it going. There’s a lot of hard work involved."
Pleasant Ridge Chili is located at 6032 Montgomery Road. It is open 9 a.m. to 4:30 a.m. Monday through Saturday.
