Man expected to survive after being shot in head in North Avondale

CINCINNATI - Police are investigating a shooting that took place inside a Dana Avenue apartment complex Saturday evening.
The male victim was reportedly shot in the head inside the Dana Village Square Apartments located at 927 Dana Avenue just before 7 p.m. and was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
Police say the bullet went through the victim's temple, shattered his skull, and then exited his head without causing severe injuries.
The victim, whose name has not been released, is expected to survive.
Police say a woman was "visibly intoxicated" when she was placed inside a police cruiser at the scene.
Her son told 9 On Your Side reporter Amy Wadas that his mother has been in a relationship with the victim for the past five years. He said his mother and the victim have been living together for the past two and a half years.
The woman, whose name is being withheld, has not been formally identified as the suspect in the case.
A motive for the shooting has not been determined and the incident remains under investigation.
