Man taken into custody after two-hour SWAT standoff in Mount Washington

CINCINNATI -- A man arrested after a two-hour SWAT standoff Sunday in Mount Washington was arraigned Monday morning and given a $12,000 bond.

Authorities responded to an apartment in the 1800 block of Sutton Avenue at about 7 a.m. after reports of a domestic dispute.

Police said a woman called police just before 7 a.m. to report she had been assaulted.

When police arrived, they said Austin Graves was inside the apartment, would not come out and refused to cooperate with officers.

SWAT officers were called to the scene and negotiated with Graves for about two hours. He was eventually arrested and charged with domestic violence and inducing panic.

Authorities found a woman, a toddler and an infant in the home unharmed.

Sutton Avenue was closed between Cambridge Avenue and Benneville Street during the standoff.

Graves appeared in court at 9 a.m.
